Road closures for this weekend's Flora Women’s Mini Marathon

This Bank Holiday Monday, June 3rd, will see thousands of ladies take to the streets for the Flora Women's Mini Marathon. This is one of the biggest events held in the city each year and you can expect widespread traffic disruption while it is on.

There will be a number of temporary closures:

St. Stephens Green, South from 6am to 5.30pm

St. Stephen’s Green, East from 6am to 5.30pm

St. Stephen’s Green, North from 11.30am to 5.30pm

Fitzwilliam Street Upper / Lower from 6am to 3.30pm

Fitzwilliam Place from 6am to 3.30pm

Merrion Square East from 8am to 3.30pm

Merrion Square North from 8am to 3.30pm

Merrion Square South from 8am to 6pm

Merrion Square West from 8am to 6pm

Merrion Street Upper from 8am to 6pm

Nutley Lane from 1.50pm to 3.45 pm

Leeson Street Bridge from 8am to 5.30pm

Leeson Street Lower from 8am to 5.30pm

Earlsfort Terrace from 7.30am to 5.30pm

Adelaide Road from 10.30am to 5.30pm

Hatch Street from 8am to 5.30pm

Baggot Street Bridge from 8am to 3.30pm

Baggot Street Lower from 8am to 3.30pm

Pembroke Street from 8am to 5.30pm

Kildare Street from 12.30pm to 5.30pm

Hume Street from 8am to 6pm

Time to get your running shoes on, it's that time of year again!

The Flora Women's Mini Marathon is taking place on Monday, here is the full list of roads that will be affected by closures.

8.00 am – 6:30 pm St. Stephen’s Green South

6:00 am – 6:30 pm St. Stephen’s Green East

12:30 am – 6:30 pm St. Stephen’s Green North

8.00 am – 6.30 pm Fitzwilliam Street Upper / Lower

8:00 am – 4:30 pm Fitzwilliam Place

8:00 am – 6:30 pm Merrion Square East

8.00 am – 7.00 pm Merrion Square North, Merrion Square South, Merrion Street Upper

3:00 pm – 4:45 pm Nutley Lane

8:00 am – 6:30 pm Lower Leeson Street

6:00 am – 6.30 pm Earlsfort Terrace

8:00 am – 6:30 pm Hatch Street

12:30 pm – 6:30 pm Kildare Street

The following roads will have traffic diversions between 2.45 pm – 5.30 pm:

Nutley Lane

Stillorgan Road from Belfield to Donnybrook

Donnybrook Village

Morehampton Road

Leeson Street

Traffic diversions will also be in place on:

Northumberland Road

Landsdowne Road

Pembroke Road

Ballsbridge

Merrion Road

Winner of the gourmet Organic Hamper from The Organic Supermarket in Blackrock was Helen Duffy, she raised just shy of 1,700 euro. Congratulations also too, to the second highest fund raiser for Action Aid Ireland, Joan Russel who won a Samsung Mobile Phone. All the Live Drivers are getting fantastic DCFM hats and t-shirts in the post, thats our very own, Duffs, Taz, Jay Cat, Mrs Bill, MG Girlie and Hazel, not to mention Sarah and pam!

Meet the girls from Kitenga Primary School in Western Uganda. Every day they make a 2 hour trek to bring water to their school. The water source is a dirty pothole at the side of the road, shared by animals and full of worms. Sometimes the water they fetch is so muddy it turns their porridge black. They have no choice, but with ActionAid you can change that.
