St. Patrick’s Festival 2017

The following road closures will be in place to facilitate events during St. Patrick's Festival next week:


St. Patrick’s Day Parade


Location A:

Western Way from 18.00hrs on Thursday 16th March 2017 to 15.00hrs on Friday 17th March

2017.

Location B:

Mountjoy Street, Mountjoy Street Middle, Palmerstown Place, Wellington Street, St Mary’s Place

North, Dominick Street Upper, Granby Row,

Parnell Square North, Parnell Square East, Cavendish Row, O’Connell Street Upper & Lower,

O’Connell Bridge, Westmoreland Street, College

Green, Dame Street, Lord Edward Street, Christchurch Place, Nicholas Street, Patrick Street,

New Street South, Clanbrassil Street Lower, Kevin

Street Upper, Kevin Street Lower, Cuffe Street and St Stephens Green South from 04.30hrs to

18.00hrs on Friday 17th March 2017.

Traffic Management Plan

 Traffic on Arran Quay travelling north and east will be diverted via Church Street, Constitution

Hill, North Circular Road, Portland Row and Amiens Street.

 Traffic on North Wall Quay travelling south will be diverted via City Quay Lombard Street,

Westland Row, Merrion Square North, and Mount Street Lower.

 Traffic on North Wall Quay travelling west will be diverted via George’s Quay Beresford Place,

Gardiner Street, North Circular Road, Infirmary Road, Parkgate Street.

 Pedestrian access will be maintained.


St. Patrick’s Festival – Custom House Quay Funfair


Customs House Quay (from Eden Quay to Memorial Road) from 19.00hrs on Thursday 16th March

2017 to 06.00hrs Monday 20th March 2017.

Traffic Management Plan

 Traffic from Eden Quay / Butt Bridge wishing to travel on Custom House Quay will be diverted

via Beresford Place and Memorial Road

 Pedestrian access will be maintained.


St. Patrick’s Festival – Merrion Square Funfair



Merrion Square West from 19.00hrs on Thursday 16th March 2017 to 06.00hrs on Monday 20th March

2017.

Traffic Management Plan

 Traffic from Clare Street / Merrion Street Lower will be diverted via Merrion Square North /

Mount St Lower / Warrington Place / Herbert Place / Baggot Street Lower.

 Traffic from Merrion Row and will be diverted via Baggot Street Lower, Fitzwilliam Street Lower,

Merrion Square East and Merrion Square North.

 Pedestrian access will be maintained.


St. Patrick’s Festival - Ceili


Earlsfort Terrace (from Leeson Street Lower to Hatch Street Upper) from 08.00hrs to 21.00hrs on

Thursday 16th March 2017.

Traffic Management Plan

 Traffic on Hatch Street Upper wishing to travel to St Stephens Green will be diverted via Hatch

Street Lower and Leeson Street Lower.

 Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.

St. Patrick’s Festival – Big Day Out

Merrion Square South and Merrion Street Upper from 14.00hrs on Saturday 18th March 2017 to

23.00hrs on Sunday 19th March 2017.

Traffic Management Plan

 Traffic on Merrion Square North wishing to travel on Merrion Square West to Baggot Street

Lower will be diverted via Merrion Square East and Fitzwilliam Street Lower.

 Traffic on Merrion Row wishing to travel on Merrion Street Upper & Merrion Square West to

Clare Street will be diverted via Baggot Street Lower, Fitzwilliam Street Lower, Merrion Square

East and Merrion Square North.

 Pedestrian access will be maintained.


St. Patrick’s Festival – Treasure Hunt


Castle Street from 08.00hrs to 18.00hrs on Saturday 18th March 2017.

Traffic Management Plan

 Traffic wishing to travel on Castle Street to Werburgh Street will be diverted via Lord Edward

Street

 Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.


St. Patrick’s Festival – 5k Road Race


St. Stephen’s Green South from 10.00hrs to 13.00hrs on Sunday 19th March 2017.

Traffic Management Plan

 Traffic on Leeson Street Lower wishing to travel on St Stephens Green South to Cuffe Street &

St Stephens Green West will be diverted via Earlsfort Terrace, Hatch Street Upper and Harcourt

Street.

 An Garda Siochana will operate traffic control measures on the race route.

 Pedestrian access will be maintained.
