Due to the anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising this weekend, there will be a number of disruptions in the city centre that you may want to take note of if you're thinking of heading into town.
Tomorrow, Saturday, O'Connell St will be closed in both directions between 1pm and 6pm due to expected protests by various groups. Though there aren't expected to be major disruptions outside O'Connell St area, the GardaĆ may instigate rolling closures for any march that go outside O'Connell St.
On Sunday, O'Connell St will be closed on a phased basis between 10am and 6pm northbound and southbound between 8am and 6pm. It is expected that around 30,000 people will attend events on O'Connell St that day. The exact march routes of all the various groups that day is unknown, so again, some other approaches to O'Connell St may be temporarily affected throughout the day.
Dublin Bus will have diversions in place to their affected services throughout the weekend. For a full list of these, visit www.dublinbus.ie.
